Thank you Pastor Grant for accepting the call of the Lord in your life. Habakkuk 2:2 says to write the vision and make it plain and he has done just that. He has guided us in the ways of the Lord and followed his purpose. As a congregation we are committed to support him in that vision.
One person who supported him in this vision unconditionally was his mother, Arlene Grant. She provided him sustenance to continue to do his work. But, she did not stop there. She was an amazing woman, grandmother, friend and sister to us all and we are honoring her today. Without her, we would not be who we are. We are better because of her.
There was never a birthday which she not celebrated with a card, a cake, or a small gift. There was never a time where she did not have a smile on her face, and her smile was so contagious one could hear it through the phone. There was never a time when we felt alone when she was there.
Mother Grant not only supported us spiritually but she was a great advocate for education. This is why we established the Arlene Grant Legacy Scholarship for continuing education towards vocational, trade schools or universities. This scholarship will be given to a deserving student once per year. As Mother Grant said, “There’s power in prayer” and together we will make sure to continue her vision with prayer and support for others.
